Privacy Policy

MotoReady is a maintenance log for your bikes. It only works if you trust it with your records, so here’s exactly what it stores, why, and for how long.

Effective October 1, 2026

The short version

  • Your garage stays on your device unless you turn on Pro cloud sync.
  • No ads and no tracking cookies. This website (not the app) uses Cloudflare’s cookieless visitor counts, and we never sell or share your data.
  • Sign-in is an email link, with no passwords. We keep your email address so you can log in.
  • Payments go through Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
  • Delete anything, anytime. When you delete a synced record, its contents are erased, not hidden.
  • Delete your whole account yourself in the app under Account → Delete account. It cancels any subscription and erases your cloud data.

Who we are

MotoReady (motoready.pro and app.motoready.pro) is built and run by Nate, an independent developer in the Finger Lakes region of New York, USA. In this policy, “MotoReady,” “we” and “us” mean that operation. If you have a question about your data, email support@motoready.pro and you’ll get an answer from the person who built the app.

On your device

You can use MotoReady without an account. When you do, everything you enter (bikes, service records, fuel logs, notes, and settings like light mode and units) is saved in your browser’s storage for app.motoready.pro. It never reaches our servers, and we can’t see it. It stays until you delete it in the app, clear the site’s data in your browser, or remove the installed app.

The app also stores its own files so it works offline. That cache holds the app itself, not your records.

VIN lookups

When you decode a VIN or run a Used Bike Check, your browser sends the VIN directly to the public vehicle database run by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It doesn’t pass through us, and we don’t record it. If you save the VIN on a bike, it’s stored like the rest of your garage.

If you sign in

Signing in is optional on the free plan and required for Pro. You enter your email address, we email you a link, and you approve the sign-in by matching a short code. There’s no password to store or leak.

What we keep

  • Your account: email address, plan, billing cycle, trial and renewal dates, and when the account was created.
  • Sign-in requests: your email, the time, whether the link was approved, your browser’s user-agent (which tells us the device and browser type), and a one-way scrambled form of your IP address. We never store the IP address itself. We use these to limit abuse and to diagnose sign-in problems.
  • Sessions: your browser holds a random session key in a secure cookie. We store only a scrambled copy of that key, when it was created and last used, and the browser’s user-agent, so we can keep you signed in and sign you out everywhere if needed.

Your garage data still stays on your device on the free plan. Signing in doesn’t upload it.

Emails we send

Sign-in links, and, if you’re on Pro and turn them on, service reminder emails. We don’t send marketing email.

Pro: sync, reminders, payments

Cloud sync

Pro keeps a copy of your bikes, service records, fuel logs and notes on our servers so your garage appears on all your devices and survives a browser reset. Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

When you delete a synced record, we erase its contents. We keep only its random ID so your other devices know to remove it too and it can’t reappear from an old device.

Service reminders

If you turn on email reminders, we store your reminder settings and a short history of which records we reminded you about and when, so you don’t get duplicates. You can turn reminders off anytime in the app under Account → Reminders.

Payments

Stripe processes payments. Your card and billing details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Stripe tells us your subscription status (for example, trialing, active or cancelled), your billing cycle, the end of the current billing period, and the Stripe customer and subscription IDs that link the payment to your account.

Security and reliability logs

To keep MotoReady working, we record errors and unusual events, such as a sign-in email that failed to send, a sync that contained invalid data, or a payment notification that couldn’t be processed. An entry may include your account ID, the part of the service involved, and a short description. For email delivery problems we record the email’s domain (for example, gmail.com), not the full address.

We also keep a log of payment notifications from Stripe (the event type, Stripe customer ID and account ID) so billing problems can be found and fixed.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes basic network data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks, under its own privacy policy.

Cookies and browser storage

MotoReady uses no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The marketing website (motoready.pro) uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and visits. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint visitors and does not follow you across other sites. The app (app.motoready.pro) has no analytics.

  • Sign-in cookies: when you sign in, api.motoready.pro sets __Host-mr_session (keeps you signed in for up to 30 days of inactivity and at most 90 days) and __Host-mr_login (lasts 15 minutes while you approve a sign-in link). Both are secure, HttpOnly cookies that page scripts can’t read.
  • Browser storage: the app stores your garage, your settings, the data it needs to finish syncing, and your account’s email and plan for display. It also remembers, for 14 days, that you dismissed the install banner.
  • Security cookies: Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the sites from automated abuse.

See also our Cookie Policy.

Your choices and rights

  • Export: download a full backup (JSON) or spreadsheets (CSV) of any bike from its Data tab. Available on every plan.
  • Delete on your device: delete records in the app, or clear site data for app.motoready.pro.
  • Turn off reminders: Account → Reminders.
  • Cancel Pro: Account → Manage Billing.
  • Delete your account: email support@motoready.pro from the address you signed up with. Within 7 days we delete your account, synced data, sessions, sign-in history, reminder settings and history, and logs linked to your account. If you’re on Pro, cancel first so you aren’t billed again. The payment notification log expires on its normal 180-day schedule.
  • Access or correct your data: email us and we’ll respond within 30 days.

If you’re in the EU, UK or a similar jurisdiction

We process your data to provide the service you asked for (your account, Pro sync, reminders and billing), and for our legitimate interest in keeping MotoReady secure and working (abuse prevention, troubleshooting). You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your data, or object to processing, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.

If you’re in California or another U.S. state with privacy laws

You can ask what personal information we hold, and ask us to correct or delete it. We don’t sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we won’t treat you differently for using your rights.

Children

MotoReady isn’t intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has created an account, email us and we’ll delete it.

Where data is processed

MotoReady is run from the United States. Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries where they operate, with protections described in their own policies.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we’ll also tell you in the app or by email if you have an account.
