The short version
- MotoReady helps you keep maintenance records. It doesn't replace your owner's manual, a qualified mechanic, or your own judgment about whether a bike is safe to ride.
- Your bike data belongs to you. On the free plan it lives in your browser, so clearing browser data erases it unless you've exported a backup.
- Pro renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Account in the app and keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
- Don't abuse the service, and don't try to break into it.
This summary is here to help you read the terms. The full terms below are what apply.
About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Nate Baird, doing business as MotoReady ("MotoReady," "we," "us," or "our"). They cover your use of the MotoReady website at motoready.pro, the MotoReady app at app.motoready.pro, its API, email reminders, and any related services (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, starting a subscription, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect and how we use it. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Who can use MotoReady
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. To purchase a Pro subscription, you must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live (18 in most U.S. states) or have a parent or guardian's permission to make the purchase.
If you use the Service on behalf of a business, such as a shop or a group that maintains several bikes, you confirm that you're authorized to accept these Terms for that business.
Your account
MotoReady doesn't use passwords. You sign in by requesting a link sent to your email address and approving the sign-in. Because anyone with access to your inbox can approve a sign-in, keeping your email account secure is how you keep your MotoReady account secure.
- Give us an email address you own and can receive mail at.
- Only approve sign-ins you started yourself. The code shown in the email should match the code shown on the device you're signing in on.
- Tell us promptly at support@motoready.pro if you think someone else has accessed your account.
You're responsible for activity on your account. One account is for one person; please don't share it or sell it.
Free and Pro plans
Free
The free plan lets you track one motorcycle. Your records are stored locally in the browser or installed app on your device and are not backed up by us.
Pro
MotoReady Pro adds unlimited motorcycles, cloud sync across your devices, and email service reminders. Features included in each plan are described in the app and on motoready.pro and may change over time. If we remove a feature that is a significant part of what Pro subscribers pay for, we'll tell you in advance.
We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but it may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control, and features may change as the product develops.
Subscriptions and billing
Prices
Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription at the prices shown at checkout. Prices are in U.S. dollars and don't include any taxes, which will be added where required.
Free trial
New Pro subscribers may be offered a 14-day free trial. You won't be charged during the trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your paid subscription starts automatically and you'll be charged the price you selected. Trials are limited to one per person.
Automatic renewal
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, and your payment method is charged the then-current price, until you cancel. You authorize us, through our payment processor, to charge your payment method for each renewal.
Cancelling
You can cancel anytime from Account → Manage Billing in the app, which opens the secure Stripe billing portal, or by emailing us. Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep Pro access until the end of the period you've already paid for, and then your account returns to the free plan.
Refunds
Payments cover the period they're charged for and aren't refundable for partial periods, except where required by law, and except as described below.
7-day renewal grace period. If a monthly or yearly charge caught you by surprise, for example you forgot to cancel before your trial ended or before a renewal, email us within 7 days of that charge. We'll refund it in full and cancel the subscription, and you'll return to the free plan. We offer this once per customer, and your data stays available on the free plan and for export.
If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days of the charge and we'll look into it and make it right.
Price changes
If we change the price of Pro, we'll email you before the change affects you. The new price applies starting with your next renewal after the notice, and you can cancel before then if you don't want to continue.
Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it and give you a short grace period to update your payment method. If payment isn't completed, your account returns to the free plan.
Payment processing
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Your use of Stripe's checkout and billing portal is also subject to Stripe's terms.
Your data
You own it
The motorcycles, maintenance records, fuel logs, costs, notes, and other information you enter ("Your Data") belong to you. You give us a limited permission to store, copy, sync, process, and display Your Data only as needed to run the Service for you, including sending the reminders you set up. We don't sell Your Data.
Where it lives
On the free plan, Your Data is stored only on your device. Clearing your browser's site data, uninstalling the app, resetting your device, or using a private browsing window can permanently delete it, and we cannot recover it. Use the app's export tools to keep your own backup.
With Pro, Your Data is also stored on our servers so it can sync between devices. We take reasonable measures to protect it, but no system is perfectly secure, and we recommend you keep your own exported backup of anything you can't afford to lose.
When Pro ends
If your Pro subscription ends, records already on your device stay there, but cloud sync and email reminders stop. You can export your data at any time while you have access to it.
Deleting your account
You can ask us to delete your account and the cloud copy of Your Data by emailing support@motoready.pro from the address on the account. Records stored locally on your devices are under your control and can be removed by clearing the app's data. Details on how long we keep information are in the Privacy Policy.
Your responsibility
You're responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for having the right to enter it. Please don't put sensitive information like payment card numbers or government ID numbers in notes fields.
Maintenance information
MotoReady is a record-keeping tool. It is not a mechanic, and it can't tell you whether your motorcycle is safe to ride.
Riding a motorcycle carries a real risk of serious injury or death. Always follow your manufacturer's service schedule and owner's manual, inspect your bike before riding, and use a qualified technician for work you aren't equipped to do yourself.
In particular:
- Intervals and due dates come from what you enter. Status labels such as Current, Due Soon, and Overdue, and any suggested intervals, are calculated from the records, mileage or hours, and intervals in the app. If that information is missing, outdated, or wrong, what the app shows will be too.
- Reminders can fail. Email reminders are sent on a best-effort basis and may be delayed, filtered as spam, or not delivered. Don't rely on them as your only way of knowing when service is due.
- Vehicle details may be inaccurate. Information looked up from a VIN comes from third-party sources, including the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and we don't guarantee it is complete or correct.
- Calculations are estimates. Fuel economy, cost totals, and similar figures are estimates based on your entries and aren't suitable for tax, warranty, insurance, or legal purposes without your own verification.
You're solely responsible for decisions about maintaining, repairing, and riding your motorcycles.
Acceptable use
Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in line with these Terms. You agree not to:
- access or try to access another person's account or data;
- probe, scan, or test the Service's security, or bypass any security, rate limit, or plan restriction, except as described below;
- send automated requests, scrape the Service, or put an unreasonable load on our systems;
- copy, resell, or build a competing product from the Service, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows despite this restriction;
- upload malicious code or content that is illegal, infringing, or harmful to others;
- use the Service to send spam or to harass anyone.
If you find a security vulnerability, please report it privately to support@motoready.pro rather than exploiting or publishing it. We appreciate good-faith reports and won't pursue action against researchers who report promptly, avoid accessing other people's data, and give us reasonable time to fix the issue.
Third-party services
The Service relies on outside providers, including Cloudflare (hosting and data storage), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), and NHTSA (vehicle information). Those providers operate under their own terms and policies. We aren't responsible for their services, though we choose them with care and they handle your information only as needed to support the Service.
The Service may link to websites we don't control. We aren't responsible for their content or practices.
Ownership and feedback
Apart from Your Data, the Service and everything in it, including the software, design, text, graphics, and the MotoReady name and logo, belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service as these Terms allow. Nothing else is licensed to you.
If you send us ideas, suggestions, or bug reports, you agree we may use them to improve MotoReady without any obligation to you.
Ending your use
You can stop using the Service at any time. If you have Pro, cancel your subscription to stop future charges.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if we're required to by law, or if your use creates a security risk or legal exposure for us or others. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem and export your data. If we close your account without cause, or discontinue the Service, we'll refund the unused portion of any prepaid subscription.
Sections that by their nature should continue after your use ends, including those on your data, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law, will continue to apply.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that data will never be lost, or that any information in the Service, including maintenance status, reminders, and vehicle details, will be accurate or complete.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranties to be excluded, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MotoReady and its owner will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, or for property damage or personal injury arising from maintenance or riding decisions, in each case arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms, even if we were told such damages were possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US$25.
These limits apply whatever the legal theory, and even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose. They don't limit liability that can't be limited under applicable law, such as liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud.
Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of content you submitted, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, to the extent the claim results from your actions.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you have a concern, please email us first. Most problems can be sorted out quickly that way.
If we can't resolve it informally within 30 days, either of us may bring a claim in the state or federal courts located in Steuben County, New York, and we both consent to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court where it qualifies.
If you live outside the United States, you may also have rights under the consumer protection laws of your country that these Terms can't take away. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes or as the law requires. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we'll give you notice by email or in the app at least 14 days before they take effect, unless the change is required sooner by law or addresses a security issue.
If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, the updated Terms apply. If you don't agree with them, stop using the Service and cancel any subscription before they take effect.
General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we don't enforce a provision right away, we haven't waived it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them in connection with a sale, merger, or reorganization of MotoReady, and we'll let you know if that happens.
